Coordination and Evaluation Meeting — July 15, 2025
On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Letters and Languages, Professor Abderrahmane Kherbouche, chaired a coordination meeting attended by the Vice-Deans, the Secretary General, the Head of General Resources, Department Heads and their deputies, as well as Field Coordinators.
This meeting focused on:
A comprehensive assessment of the activities and achievements of the 2024–2025 academic year;
A review of the preparations for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The Dean also addressed several key priorities to be implemented to ensure optimal organization and the smooth running of the upcoming semester.

Congratulations to the Sudanese student Ahmed Zakaria Taj Eddine
The student Ahmed Zakaria Taj Eddine, enrolled in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, received a special distinction from the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Abdurrahman Kherbouche, on the occasion of obtaining his Bachelor's degree.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Azzedine Ben Aïssa, Vice-Dean for Pedagogical Affairs; Ms. Horra Taïbi, Head of Department; Ms. Leila Houmani, Deputy Head; as well as members of the student's family.
On this occasion, all attendees extended their sincere wishes for his continued success and a promising future.

Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2025
On Thursday, July 10, 2025, the University held a graduation ceremony celebrating the achievements of students from various departments. The event was presided over by the Rector, alongside the Dean of the Faculty and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
The ceremony took place in a warm and festive atmosphere, filled with pride and joy shared by graduates and their families.

Tribute to Former Secretary General Djamel Eddine Baba Ahmed
In a moving ceremony marking his retirement, Mr. Djamel Eddine Baba Ahmed was honored under the guidance of Professor Bachir Redouane, Vice-Rector of the University. in the presence of the Faculty Dean, former Deans Mr. Chaïf Okacha and Mr. Mohamed Meliani, faculty executives, Vice-Deans, department heads, service managers, as well as many staff members and union representatives.
The speeches delivered by the Vice-Rector and the former Deans unanimously celebrated Mr. Baba Ahmed’s exceptional human qualities and professional commitment, expressing deep gratitude for his many years of dedicated service. Everyone in attendance extended their best wishes for a peaceful retirement and a fulfilling family life.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Mr. Djamel Eddine Baba Ahmed expressed his heartfelt thanks to all who participated, appreciating the sincere recognition from the Dean and the entire faculty team.

As part of efforts to strengthen scientific and institutional ties, the Faculty of Letters and Languages had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the research unit “Reality of Linguistics and the Evolution of Linguistic Studies in Arab Countries,” led by its director, Professor Nezha Khelfaoui.
The delegation was received by Professor Abdurrahman Kherbouche, Dean of the Faculty, who was warmly congratulated on his recent appointment. The visiting team wished him success and expressed their readiness to support future initiatives under his leadership.
The visit provided an opportunity for a fruitful exchange regarding future avenues of collaboration between the two institutions. Discussions focused on joint research projects, the organization of scientific events, and the development of shared training programs.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at fostering active partnerships to promote scientific excellence, innovation, and the exchange of expertise among institutions of higher education and research.

On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the installation ceremony of Mr. Nabil Mersli as Secretary General of the Faculty of Letters and Languages, replacing Mr. Djamel Eddine Baba Ahmed, took place under the supervision of the university's Rector, Professor Mourad Meghachou.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Abderrahmane Kherbouche, Dean of the Faculty, accompanied by his administrative team; Mr. Fathi Beledgham, Dean of the Faculty of Economic, Commercial and Management Sciences, along with his administrative team; Mr. Fouad Benmokrane, Secretary General of the University; as well as representatives of social partners.
In his speech on this occasion, the Rector expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Mr. Djamel Eddine Baba Ahmed for the efforts he made throughout his term, appreciating his sincerity and dedication to the service of the faculty and university. He also congratulated Mr. Nabil Mersali for the confidence he has acquired, wishing him success in his new duties and encouraging him to continue his efforts.

Professor Mourad Meghachou, Rector of the University of Tlemcen, presided over the installation ceremony of Professor Abdurrahman Kherbouche as the new Dean of the Faculty of Letters and Languages on the morning of Sunday, June 22, 2025, succeeding Professor Ghouti Hedjoui.
On this occasion, the Rector expressed his deep gratitude to Professor Ghouti Hedjoui for the valuable efforts he devoted to the service of the faculty, wishing him every success in the continuation of his career. He also extended his congratulations to Professor Abdurrahman Kherbouche, wishing him success and full accomplishment in the performance of his new duties.

The Algerian Free Students' Association organized an event to mark the 70th anniversary of the start of the glorious revolution and the 50th anniversary of the creation of the University of Tlemcen.
The event was held in the hall of the Arabic language and literature department, where a live testimony was presented by a moudjahida from the Tlemcen region.
The event was attended by the Dean of the faculty, the general secretary and the head of the Arabic language and literature department.

On Monday, November 4, 2024, the “Agadir “Literary Club of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature organized a cultural event featuring an art exhibition, creative readings, and a theatrical performance.
The event took place in the presence of the Dean, his assistants, the department’s administrative staff, professors, and a large number of students.

The University of Tlemcen, through the i2E student business incubator, is organizing awareness days for Master 2 students interested in integrating into Ministerial Decree No. 1275 for the startup diploma/patent diploma for the 2024/2025 academic year, as well as for supervising teachers.
These awareness days will take place on the following dates:
- Tuesday, 29/10/2024 at the Faculty of Technology, starting at 2:00 p.m., in the PhD defense room.
- Wednesday, October 30, 2024,in the amphitheater of the new central library (the bypass), starting at 10:00 AM (for all four faculties of the campus).
- Wednesday, October 30, 2024,in Room 19 May at the Bouhanak University Center, starting at 2:00 PM (for the two faculties of the campus).
The program will include the following elements:
- Presentation of the missions of university interfaces, business incubators, entrepreneurial development centers, technology and innovation support centers, the role of artificial intelligence, and the liaison office between the institution and the university.
- Overview of Ministerial Decree No. 1275, implementation procedures, discussion modalities, startup and micro-enterprise creation processes, patent requests, etc.
This invitation is extended to all Master 2 students from all specialties and to all supervising teachers of the 2024-2025 final thesis projects.
