Dean’s Message – Faculty of Letters and Languages

In the name of God, the Almighty, May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad.

Dear students and colleagues,

It is with great pleasure and profound honor that I address you as the Dean of the Faculty of Letters and Languages — a prestigious faculty founded in 1984. It embodies both the authenticity of our heritage and the spirit of modernity, serving as a beacon of knowledge in the fields of literature and languages, as well as a dynamic center for scientific, pedagogical, and cultural research within the University of Tlemcen.

Our faculty is not merely an academic institution; it is a true space for learning and personal growth, nurturing a generation of cultivated young people who are able to engage with diverse cultures, master languages and their literatures, and analyze texts with depth and insight. These skills open wide career prospects in teaching, translation, scientific research, media, and intercultural communication.

We are committed to providing a stimulating educational environment that combines theory and practice, preparing our students to meet contemporary challenges and to keep pace with scientific and cultural developments, while reinforcing the human and ethical values that shape responsible citizens and effective contributors to their country and society.

Convinced of the essential role of scientific research in the development of societies, we strongly encourage both faculty members and students to engage in research that contributes to the enrichment of human knowledge and enhances the reputation of our faculty at the national and international levels.

We also attach great importance to building strong partnerships with academic and cultural institutions, both within and beyond our borders, to promote the exchange of experiences and to broaden the horizons of scientific and cultural cooperation.

Finally, I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the entire teaching and administrative staff for their constant dedication and tireless efforts, as well as to our dear students, who represent our pride and our hope for a brighter future.

May Almighty God guide us toward all that is good for our beloved nation, and may He bless our endeavors within this faculty.

Professor Abderrahmane Kherbouch
Dean of the Faculty
